Hardware And Software Requirements

Consider the following hardware and software requirements when you install 3D-Tool.

Hardware Requirements

We recommend a Desktop-PC, Laptop, or Tablet with a standard processor, at least4GB of RAM, and a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or more. For bigger and more complex CAD models, we recommend a graphics card which supports OpenGL 3.3 or higher.

The opening and conversion speed of CAD files when using the 3D-Tool Advanced and Premium interfaces depend on the processor speed and the amount of RAM available. With increasing size CAD models require more computing power and main memory. For big and complex CAD models we recommend a fast up-to-date processor and 8GB of RAM or more.

Test of the Hardware Acceleration of the Graphics Card

The hardware acceleration of the graphics card can be activated to optimize the display speed. In order to activate the appropriate hardware acceleration setting, 3D-Tool performs a short graphics card test.

Select "Start test" from the dialog window to start the hardware acceleration test or "Do not activate Hardware Acceleration" to reject it.
Depending on the result, the hardware acceleration with OpenGL 3.3 function is activated.
If the graphics card does not support OpenGL 3.3 function, the hardware acceleration can also be activated without it.

Tip
Before starting the test, you should save your work in all other applications.

Note
Older graphics drivers could cause display errors after activation. In case of a faulty program display, disable OpenGL 3.3 and, if necessary, the hardware acceleration under Preferences. Options tab > Preferences group > Preferences button > Hardware.

Software Requirements to use the Premium Import
The following software will be installed if necessary together with 3D-Tool as it is required for the Premium Import:

Microsoft Visual C++2015-2022 Redistributable [x86/x64]

64bit Support
3D-Tool is a 32bit and 64bit software. The 64bit version of the program is supported by Windows 7 x64; Windows 8 x64, Windows 10 x64 and Windows 11. The 3D-Tool Premium interfaces and the 3D-NativeCAD Converter are only available in Windows 10 x64 and Windows 11.
